IMPLEMENTASI MANAJEMEN BERBASIS SEKOLAH UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MUTU LEMBAGA PENDIDIKAN ANAK USIA DINI

The quality of education is the key for all of the progress and development relating to the quality of human resources. The educational quality is still poor in Indonesia. One of the reasons is because of the centralization on the educational management. The kind of the management makingthe schools become dependent in managing the provided resources, both for the secondary level and basic level. The system of the new educational management needs to be implemented to improve the quality of the early childhood education namely through School Based Management (SBM). School based management needs to be implementedbecause the schools know more about theirneeds and their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threateness. By implementing school based management can have a positive impact,viz to improve the educational quality through the school autonomy and initiative. With school based management, the liveliness in managing the schools will happen and to be expected in supporting the learning process effectively and efficiently in order to improve the educational quality. Because the better the quality of education, the better the quality of human resources produced.
Abstrak
Pendidikan bermutu merupakan kunci untuk semua kemajuan dan perkembangan sumber daya manusia yang bermutu.Di Indonesia mutu pendidikan masih tergolong rendah.Salah satu faktor penyebab rendahnya mutu pendidikan adalah manajemen pendidikan yang tersentralisasi.Manajemen tersebut membuat sekolah-sekolah, baik di jenjang menengah maupun jenjang pendidikan dasar menjadi tidak mandiri dalam mengelola dan memberdayakan sumber daya yang tersedia.Pola manajemen pendidikan baru perlu diimplementasikan untuk meningkatkan mutu lembaga pendidikan anak usia dini yaitu melalui Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS). Manajemen berbasis sekolah perlu dilaksanakan karena sekolah lebih mengetahui tentang kebutuhan lembaganya dan mengetahui kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman bagi sekolahnya.Dengan penerapan manajemen berbasis sekolah dapat berdampak positif yakni meningkatkan mutu pendidikan melalui kemandirian dan inisiatif sekolah.Dengan manajemen berbasis sekolah, kelincahan dalam pengelolaan sekolah akan terjadi dan diharapkan dapat mendukung penyelenggaraan proses belajar mengajar yang efektif dan efisien yang nantinya dapat meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Karena semakin baik mutu pendidikan, semakin baik pula kualitas sumber daya manusia yang dihasilkan.
