This study aims to analyze the nationalistic values contained in the traditional Lego-Lego dance culture and describe the application of these values in local content learning at Cokroaminoto 1 Islamic Elementary School in Kalabahi. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed in depth to find the meaning of nationalistic values in each element of the dance. The research involved 1 local content teacher, 1 principal, and 1 class consisting of 30 students as informants. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that nationalistic values were strongly reflected in the music and dance components, which were then internalized through contextual learning based on local culture. The implications of this study confirm that the integration of nationalistic values in local content is an effective strategy for teachers to strengthen the nationalistic character of students from an early age. The contribution (novelty) of this study lies in the use of regional arts as a pedagogical medium that not only preserves local culture but also systematically constructs the strengthening of nationalistic character in the context of basic education.
Mahmud Abdullah Noho, Nurrohmatul Amaliyah Copyright (c) 2026 Visipena https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3459 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 THE IMPACT OF TIKTOK ADDICTION ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: ACADEMIC PROCRASTINATION AS A KEY MEDIATOR https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3411
This study investigates the relationship between TikTok addiction and academic performance among university students, with academic procrastination examined as a mediating variable. Grounded in self-escape theory, the research explores how excessive TikTok use may act as a maladaptive coping mechanism that contributes to procrastinatory behaviors, ultimately affecting academic outcomes. This study used a cross-sectional design and data collected from 287 students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta through an online questionnaire. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that TikTok addiction has no significant direct effect on academic performance. The study used a quantitative approach with a 2×2 factorial quasi-experimental design on 60 students grouped by media type and learning motivation level. The research instruments included a learning outcome test and a motivation questionnaire (Cronbach's Alpha 0.85–0.87). Data analysis included normality, homogeneity, and two-way ANOVA tests. The results showed a significant increase between pretest and posttest scores (t = 12.84; p = 0.000). The ANOVA test revealed that learning media had a significant effect on learning outcomes (F(1,56) = 14.62; p = 0.000; η² = 0.21). Learning motivation also had a significant effect (F(1,56) = 32.45; p = 0.000; η² = 0.37). In addition, there was a significant interaction between media and motivation (F(1,56) = 4.18; p = 0.046; η² = 0.07). Highly motivated students using the Android application obtained the highest average score (Mean = 88.75), while lowly motivated students using conventional media showed the lowest score (Mean = 64.38). This finding confirms that Android-based music applications can significantly improve the effectiveness of music ensemble learning, especially for students with high motivation. The integration of digital technology is recommended as an alternative learning strategy that is interactive, flexible, and supports the improvement of students' musical performance.
Trisia Santi Parlina, Rufi'i Rufi'i, Reza Rachmadtullah Copyright (c) 2026 Visipena https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3502 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP OF THE PRINCIPAL AS AN EFFORT TO REALIZE THE VISION AT SMPIT NUR HIDAYAH SURAKARTA https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3473
The principal’s leadership plays a crucial role in determining the direction and success of schools in realizing their vision and mission. In the context of integrated Islamic education, transformational leadership is particularly relevant as it emphasizes role modeling, motivation, innovation, and individualized attention to mobilize all school members. This study aims to examine how transformational leadership is practically enacted by the principal in realizing the vision of SMPIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta (Nur Hidayah Surakarta Integrated Islamic Junior High School), namely “To create an Islamic generation with strong character, high achievement, and leadership qualities.” This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the school principal and the vice principal of curriculum, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings reveal that the principal consistently implements the four dimensions of transformational leadership. Idealized influence is reflected in exemplary behavior and a strong commitment to Islamic values; inspirational motivation is demonstrated through spiritual motivation and the consistent internalization of the school vision; intellectual stimulation is realized through educational innovations such as ICT-based classes, digitalization of school information systems, bilingual programs, and community empowerment initiatives; while individualized consideration is shown through personal attention, spiritual guidance, and systematic teacher professional development through workshops. The novelty of this study lies in its detailed analysis of how the four dimensions of transformational leadership are concretely implemented to internalize the school vision within an integrated Islamic junior high school context. This study contributes theoretically to transformational leadership studies in Islamic education and practically provides insights for school leaders in translating vision into sustained educational practices.
Amara Nairani Safhira, Istanto Copyright (c) 2026 Visipena https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3473 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 EFFECTIVENESS OF THE NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER (NHT) MODEL BASED ON SNAKES AND LADDERS MEDIA ON STUDENTS' ENGAGEMENT IN SKI https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3565
Student engagement is a crucial indicator of successful educational outcomes. However, in practice, engagement levels often remain low, particularly in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) courses. Preliminary research conducted at MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung revealed that only 2% of students actively engaged in asking questions to teachers or peers, indicating a predominantly passive attitude towards learning. This situation highlights the urgent need for innovative teaching methods that can effectively foster active student participation. Accordingly, this study empirically examines the effectiveness of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model, integrated with Snakes and Ladders game media, in enhancing students’ engagement in Islamic Cultural History (SKI). The research adopts a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a post-test-only control group framework. The sample consists of two intact groups from seventh-grade classes, selected via intact group sampling techniques. One class served as the experimental group, utilizing NHT with Snakes and Ladders media, while the other group was the control, applying the Jigsaw method. Data on learning activity were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using independent sample t- tests, along with effect size calculations. The findings revealed a significance level of 0.269 (> 0.05) and a Cohen’s d of 0.027, indicating no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with the treatment effect being negligibly small in practical terms. These results suggest that the effectiveness of the NHT model based on game media is context-dependent and influenced by students’ preparedness, self-confidence, and emotional factors. Consequently, for NHT to function optimally in enhancing student engagement, it requires strengthening of the affective domain alongside consistent reinforcement of cooperative learning practices.
Choirunisa Salsabila, Deden Makbuloh, Muhammad Mustofa Copyright (c) 2026 Visipena https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3565 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 CONCEPTUAL ANALYSIS OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING STRATEGIES IN INDONESIAN LANGUAGE LEARNING IN THE SOCIETY 5.0 ERA: A STRUCTURED LITERATURE REVIEW https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3487
This study aims to conduct a conceptual analysis of cooperative learning strategies and examine their relevance to Indonesian language instruction in the Society 5.0 context. Educational transformation in the Society 5.0 era requires learning strategies that not only emphasize content mastery but also foster collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy. Although cooperative learning has been widely implemented in Indonesian language education, integrative conceptual studies linking cooperative learning with Deep Learning pedagogy, AI integration, and the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) remain limited. This research employed a structured literature review of scholarly publications published between 2018 and 2025, identified using the keywords cooperative learning, Indonesian language learning, Society 5.0, Deep Learning, and artificial intelligence. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, categorization, and thematic synthesis to construct an integrative conceptual framework. The findings indicate that cooperative learning strategies are highly relevant to Society 5.0 learning demands, particularly in supporting student-centered learning, project-based instruction, and the development of 21st-century skills (4C). The integration of cooperative learning with Deep Learning principles namely mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning and the use of AI as a supportive tool for learning and assessment enhance the effectiveness of Indonesian language instruction. This study contributes a novel integrative conceptual model connecting cooperative learning, AI, Deep Learning, and P5, offering both theoretical insights and practical guidance for educators in designing adaptive and collaborative Indonesian language learning in the Society 5.0 era.
Rossy Widya Puspita , Fira Triana Annisa, Sindy Alfiana, Ahmad Faizi, Iwan Marwan, Harfiandi Harfiandi Copyright (c) 2026 Visipena https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3487 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 PRINCIPAL MANAGEMENT IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TEACHING FACTORY TO IMPROVE GRADUATES' QUALITY https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3526
Vocational High Schools are designed to produce work-ready graduates; however, the high unemployment rate among SMK graduates indicates a mismatch between school competencies and labor market demands. Teaching Factory (TEFA) has been developed as a contextual vocational learning approach, yet its implementation continues to face challenges, particularly in managerial aspects. This study aims to describe the principal’s management in improving graduate quality through Teaching Factory-based learning at SMK Negeri 2 Langsa. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo 12 software. The novelty of this study lies in positioning Teaching Factory as a vocational education management system driven by the principal’s leadership, rather than merely as a learning model, through the integration of four management functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. The findings indicate that planning is carried out strategically and collaboratively with industry partners, organizing is reflected in the strengthening of work structures and human resources, implementation is conducted through coordination and product-based evaluation, and supervision is adaptive and continuous. The implementation of TEFA management has a significant impact on improving graduate quality, as reflected in the increased graduate absorption rate based on the 2025 Education Report. These findings provide both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of vocational education management at SMK Negeri 2 Langsa.
Sri Wardhani, Saiful Bahri, Munawar Munawar Copyright (c) 2026 Visipena https://ejournal.bbg.ac.id/visipena/article/view/3526 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700
