ANALISIS EFEKTIVITAS DAN KENDALA DALAM SISTEM REKRUTMEN ATLET TAEKWONDO DI PPLPD ACEH

Taekwondo merupakan salah satu cabang olahraga yang berkembang pesat di Indonesia, dengan PPLPD Aceh menjadi pusat pengembangan atlet muda, termasuk di bidang taekwondo. Penelitian ini fokus pada sistem rekrutmen atlet taekwondo di PPLPD Aceh, yang dirasa belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan kriteria yang diharapkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis sistem rekrutmen yang diterapkan, menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan teknik pengambilan sampel total sampling pada 10 atlet taekwondo PPLPD Aceh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem rekrutmen di PPLPD Aceh cukup efektif dalam memilih atlet dengan potensi tinggi. Seleksi berbasis tinggi badan dan batas usia maksimal terbukti membantu memilih atlet yang memenuhi standar fisik dan usia untuk pelatihan jangka panjang. Selain itu, sistem ini mematuhi regulasi dari Kemenpora dan Dispora Aceh, yang menjadikannya transparan dan adil. Namun, terdapat kelemahan, yaitu ketergantungan yang terlalu besar pada kriteria tinggi badan dan usia, yang dapat mengurangi kesempatan bagi atlet dengan potensi tinggi yang tidak memenuhi kriteria tersebut. Proses seleksi yang terlalu ketat juga dapat mengeliminasi atlet berbakat di tahap awal meskipun memiliki keterampilan teknis yang baik. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar PPLPD Aceh mempertimbangkan kriteria tambahan seperti keterampilan teknis atau prestasi sebelumnya dalam taekwondo, sehingga atlet yang memiliki potensi namun tidak memenuhi standar fisik tertentu masih bisa diberi kesempatan untuk menunjukkan kemampuannya.
Abstract
Taekwondo is a martial art that has rapidly developed in Indonesia, with PPLPD Aceh serving as a center for nurturing young athletes, including those specializing in taekwondo. This study focuses on the athlete recruitment system for taekwondo at PPLPD Aceh, which is perceived to not fully align with the expected criteria. The objective of this study is to analyze the recruitment system in place, employing a qualitative approach and utilizing a total sampling technique involving 10 taekwondo athletes from PPLPD Aceh. The findings indicate that the recruitment system at PPLPD Aceh is relatively effective in selecting athletes with high potential. The selection process, which is based on height and age limits, proves effective in choosing athletes who meet the physical and age standards required for long-term training. Furthermore, the system complies with the regulations established by Kemenpora and Dispora Aceh, making it transparent and fair. However, some weaknesses were identified, such as an over-reliance on height and age criteria, which may reduce opportunities for athletes with high potential who do not meet these requirements. The stringent selection process may also lead to the elimination of talented athletes at an early stage, even if they possess strong technical skills. Therefore, it is recommended that PPLPD Aceh consider additional criteria, such as technical skills or prior achievements in taekwondo, to provide opportunities for athletes with potential who may not meet specific physical standards but still demonstrate exceptional ability.
