Acehnese Literature, Cultural Identity, and Acehnese SocietyAbstract
Acehnese literature is a cultural heritage reflecting the traditional values, religiosity, and local wisdom of the Acehnese people, passed down through generations through language and oral and written traditions. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature review. Data collection techniques include identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data presentation, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that Acehnese literature is crucial for the development and maintenance of the cultural identity of the Acehnese people. Traditional values, religious beliefs, social conventions, and local wisdom are passed down from generation to generation through various genres of oral literature, including hikayat (folklore), syair (poetry), panton (performance), and hiem (folklore). In addition to being a work of art, Acehnese literature facilitates cultural transmission and identity building. To preserve the continuity of Acehnese cultural identity in the face of globalization and modernity, education, cultural policies, and the use of digital media must contribute to the preservation of Acehnese literature.
