ANALISIS NILAI-NILAI DALAM CERITA SEJARAH TEUKU UMAR (Sebuah Kajian Persepsi)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi masyarakat terhadap cerita sejarah di Meulaboh terkait nilai yang terkandung dalam cerita sejarah Adapun cerita yang dijadikan penelitian adalah cerita sejarah Teuku Umar yang terdapat di Kecamatan Johan Pahlawan Gampong Ujung Kalak. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah masyarakat setempat sedangkan data adalah tuturan dari masyarakat tersebut (informan). Untuk mendapatkan data-data yang berupa tuturan (persepsi) dari informan peneliti melakukan wawancara mendalam. Setelah data terkumpul selanjutnya data dianalisis melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam cerita sejarah Teuku Umar berupa; (a) nilai sosial seperti sifat dermawan yang dimiliki pahlawan dalam membantu rakyatnya, (b) nilai moral yang terdapat pada cerita sejarah seperti pahlawan memiliki jiwa pemberani dan tidak mementingkan keselamatannya sendiri tanpa memperdulikan keselamatan rakyat, (c) nilai keagamaan seperti sang pejuang merupakan sosok yang sangat religius salah satunya mereka sangat menghormati para ulama sebagai pewaris nabi, (d) nilai budaya seperti rencong, rencong yang dulunya digunakan sebagai senjata namun sekarang telah berubah fungsi rencong pada masa ini digunakan sebagai kelengkapan pakaian adat pria. Dari hasil persepsi masyarakat terhadap cerita sejarah di Meulaboh dapat disimpulkan bahwa cerita tersebut sangat memiliki makna mendalam oleh masyarakat karena mengandung nilai-nilai yang kebaikan yang dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan masyarakat namun perlu upaya dari masyarakat dan pemerintah untuk melestarikan cerita tersebut agar tetap dikenang oleh generasi penerus.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the public perception toward historical story in Meulaboh related embodied in the story of the Foundation of the story As history research is the story of the history of the Teuku Umar found in district Johan Pahlawan Gampong Kebonagung Tip. This research uses qualitative research methods type descriptive. Data source this study is the local community while the data was the speech of the society (the informant). To get the data in the form of speech (perceptions) of informants researchers did in-depth interviews. After the data is collected data were analyzed through the next three stages, namely the reduction of the presence of the data, the data, and the withdrawal of the conclusion. The results showed that the values contained in the narrative history of the Teuku Umar in the form of (a) the value of the social nature of the benefactor who owned a hero in helping its people, (b) the moral values found in the story of history as the hero has the soul of daredevil and not concerned with his own safety regardless of the people, (c) religious values such as the Warrior is a very religious figure one of their great respect for the clergy as the heir of the Prophet, (d) cultural values such as the towel, the towel that was once used as a weapon but have now changed functions in the towel at this time used as the completeness of custom clothing for men. From the results of public perception against the story's history in Meulaboh can be concluded that the stories have meaning deeply by society because it contains values that merit can be applied in public life but necessary efforts from the public and Government to preserve the story to be remembered by the next generation.
