SURVEY KEKUATAN OTOT KAKI PADA ATLET SOS CLIMBING BANDA ACEH

Panjat tebing merupakan olahraga prestasi yang menuntut kondisi fisik optimal, salah satunya kekuatan otot kaki yang berperan sebagai penopang utama berat badan, sumber dorongan vertikal, serta penunjang keseimbangan selama pemanjatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kekuatan otot kaki atlet S.O.S Climbing Banda Aceh. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian survei deskriptif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 10 atlet yang seluruhnya dijadikan sampel melalui teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes leg dynamometer untuk mengukur kekuatan otot tungkai, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui perhitungan nilai rata-rata dan persentase berdasarkan norma tes leg dynamometer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kekuatan otot kaki atlet sebesar 101 kg. Distribusi kategori menunjukkan bahwa 1 atlet (10%) berada pada kategori baik, 2 atlet (20%) kategori cukup, 4 atlet (40%) kategori kurang, dan 3 atlet (30%) kategori kurang sekali. Dengan demikian, sebanyak 70% atlet berada pada kategori kekuatan otot kaki rendah. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kekuatan otot kaki atlet S.O.S Climbing Banda Aceh secara umum masih belum optimal, sehingga diperlukan program latihan kekuatan otot kaki yang lebih terstruktur, sistematis, dan berkesinambungan guna menunjang peningkatan performa panjat tebing.
Abstract
Sport climbing is a competitive sport that requires optimal physical condition, one of which is leg muscle strength that functions as the primary support for body weight, a source of vertical propulsion, and a contributor to balance during climbing activities. This study aims to determine the level of leg muscle strength of athletes from S.O.S Climbing Banda Aceh. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design. The research subjects consisted of 10 athletes, all of whom were selected as the sample using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a leg dynamometer test to measure lower limb muscle strength and were analyzed descriptively by calculating the mean values and percentages based on the leg dynamometer test norms. The results showed that the average leg muscle strength of the athletes was 101 kg. The category distribution indicated that 1 athlete (10%) was classified as good, 2 athletes (20%) as moderate, 4 athletes (40%) as poor, and 3 athletes (30%) as very poor. Thus, 70% of the athletes were categorized as having low leg muscle strength. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the leg muscle strength of S.O.S Climbing Banda Aceh athletes is generally not yet optimal; therefore, a more structured, systematic, and continuous leg muscle strength training program is required to support improvements in sport climbing performance.
