PROSES BERPIKIR SISWA CLIMBER DALAM MEMECAHKAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA BERDASARKAN GENDER

A person can solve a problem well if supported by a goodability to face the obstacles too. Where is fighting power considered to have an important role in problems solving. This study aims to describe the thinking process of students in mathematical problems solvingbased on the gender. a qualitative approach with descriptive research type were used. The research subjects consisted of one male and female subject climber. Data was collected through a task-based interview method whose validity used to test data credibility by means of time triangulation. Data were analyzed using the concepts of Miles and Huberman, namely the reduction, presentation and conclusion stages. The results of the study showed that: (1) The thinking process is assimilated by the male and female subjects in understanding the problem, developing a problem solving plan, and re-examining the mathematical problem solving. Both subjects have been able to assimilate and integrate directly any newly acquired information into the scheme that is in his mind when solving a given mathematical problem. (2) The process of thinking in assimilation and accommodation is carried out by both male and female subjects in implementing the problem solving plan. But male subjects climber generally do the assimilation process of thinking and a small part do the process of thinking in accommodation, while female subjects climber do the process of assimilation and accommodation in a balanced manner. The process of thinking in accommodation occurs because the two subjects make adjustments to their scheme to fit their new information and experience in solving the given mathematical problems.
Abstrak
Seseorang dapat memecahkan suatu masalah dengan baik apabila didukung oleh kemampuan menghadapi rintangan yang baik juga.Disinilah daya juang dianggap memiliki peran penting dalam memecahkan masalah.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir siswa climber dalam memecahkanmasalah matematika berdasarkangender. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptifyang subjek penelitian terdiri dari satu subjek laki-laki dan perempuanclimber.Data dikumpulkan melalui metode wawancara berbasis tugas yang keabsahannya digunakan uji kredibilitas data dengan cara triangulasi waktu. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan konsep Miles dan Huberman, yaitu tahap reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Proses berpikir secara asimilasi dilakukan oleh subjek laki-laki maupun perempuan climber dalam memahami masalah, menyusun rencana penyelesaian masalah, dan memeriksa kembali penyelesaian masalah matematika. Kedua subjek sudah mampu mengasimilasi dan mengintegrasikan langsung setiap informasi yang baru diperoleh ke dalam skema yang ada di dalam pikirannya ketika memecahkan masalah matematika yang diberikan. (2) Proses berpikir secara asimilasi dan akomodasi dilakukan oleh subjek laki-laki maupun perempuan climber dalam melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian masalah. Namun subjek laki-laki climber secara umum melakukan proses berpikir secara asimilasi dan sebagian kecil melakukan proses berpikir secara akomodasi, sedangkan subjek perempuan climbermelakukan proses berpikir secara asimilasi dan akomodasi secara seimbang. Proses berpikir secara akomodasi terjadi karena kedua subjek melakukan penyesuaian skema mereka agar sesuai dengan informasi dan pengalaman baru mereka dalam memecahkan masalah matematika yang diberikan.
