Author Guidelines
Please carefully follow the guidelines below when preparing your manuscript for submission to the Getsempena English Education Journal (GEEJ). Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements will be returned to authors for revision, potentially resulting in significant delays in the review and publication process.
General Requirements
- The manuscript must be written in English.
- The abstractshould be no more than 250 words and followed by 3–5 keywords.
- The manuscript should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words, typed on A4-sized paper with the following margins: 54 cm on all sides (left, top, right, and bottom).
- Use Book Antiqua, 11 pt, with 5 line spacing.
- Manuscripts should be 12–20 pages in length, including figures and tables.
Title and Author Information
- The titleshould be concise and informative, with a maximum of 16–18 words.
- Author names should be written in capital letters.
- Author details (without academic titles) including institutional affiliation, address (with postal code), institutional phone number, and email address must be provided as footnotes below the abstract.
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should report original research results conducted within the last three years. It must follow the structure below:
- Title
- Author(s)
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Background and rationale for the study
- Research gap and problem formulation
- Objectives and expected significance
- Theoretical framework - Methodology
- Research design
- Data sources and research instruments
- Data collection and analysis techniques - Results and Discussion
- Presentation of research findings
- Supported by theoretical and empirical references
- May include tables and figures - Conclusion
- A summary of key findings (without suggestions) - References
Writing Style and Format
- Manuscripts must follow academic writing standards, including proper citations and reference lists.
- In-text citations must use the author–year format:
Example: (Prahmana, 2025) or (Prahmana et al., 2025) - Headings (chapters) should be written in capital letters, left-aligned, and without numbering.
Example: RESEARCH METHOD - Subheadings should use title case, left-aligned, and not numbered.
Example: Conceptual Design Model - If numbered lists are necessary, use Arabic numerals in parentheses.
Example:
... as follows:
(1) readiness in learning...
(2) the search for meaning...
(3) meaningful learning...
Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures must be placed close to the relevant text.
- Accepted image formats: .gif, .jpg, .bmp, .pct, .png, .psd
- Each figure and table must be accompanied by a number and title.
Example:

Table 1. Summary of Homogeneity Test Results
References
The reference list must include only the sources cited in the manuscript. Authors are required to use a minimum of 20 references, with at least 80% drawn from primary sources such as peer-reviewed journal articles. To ensure the scholarly quality and global relevance of the submission, the majority of references should be from international sources and authors, published within the last 10 years.
Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, or similar software to ensure accuracy and consistency in formatting. The citation and reference style must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition, using the full-note format without the use of "ibid."
Submission Process
- Manuscripts must be submitted in .doc or .docx. format through the journal's online submission system (OJS).
- Submissions sent outside the OJS will not be considered for publication.
